Anoraks Terms of Use

The basics

Anoraks is a free daily football quiz at anoraks.app, run by Jamie English, based in Australia ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. It's a bit of fun, and these terms are here to keep it that way.

Your account

• You must be 13 or older to create an account. Anyone can play as a guest.
• Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your email address up to date so sign-in links reach you.
• One account per person. Shared or duplicate accounts may be merged or removed.
• Keep access to your email secure, since that's how you sign in. Tell us at gaffer@anoraks.app if you think someone else is using your account.

Fair play

Play in the spirit of the game. You agree not to:

• use offensive, hateful or impersonating display names or league names;
• harass other players, including through league names or nudges;
• use bots, scripts or automated tools to play, scrape the site or pile up accounts;
• try to break, overload or get around the site's security.

We may rename, hide or remove anything that breaks these rules, and suspend accounts that keep doing it.

Mini-leagues

• You can run up to 3 mini-leagues at once, each with up to 10 members. You can join as many as you're invited to.
• The person who creates a league runs it and is responsible for its name and who they invite.
• During our launch "pre-season", creating a league is free. Leagues started during pre-season stay free until they finish. After pre-season, new leagues will cost £5, paid once by the person who runs the league, and we'll show the price clearly before you pay.

Paid features

The daily games are free, and always will be. We plan to offer optional paid extras, such as access to past quizzes. When we do, the price, what you get and how refunds work will be shown before you buy, and these terms will be updated. Nothing on the site costs money today.

Quiz content

• Accuracy: we check every puzzle, but football records sometimes disagree. If you spot a mistake, use "Report a mistake" and we'll look into it. We may correct answers and scores after a quiz has been played.
• Ownership: the site's design, games, puzzles and writing belong to us. Sharing your results is encouraged; copying the quizzes or the site is not.
• No affiliation: club, league, competition and player names are used only to describe real matches and careers. Anoraks isn't connected to, or endorsed by, any club, league, governing body or player.

Changes and ending your account

• We may change, pause or stop parts of the site, including games and features, at any time.
• We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell signed-in players about significant changes before they apply.
• You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Liability, law and contact

The site is provided as it is, for entertainment. We don't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we're not responsible for losses caused by using it, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't legally be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If you live in the UK or elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections the law where you live gives you.
